Happy late Memorial Weekend!

I enjoyed my weekend doing some hiking, going to the park, and of course eating froyo, but now, it's back to the grind! While I didn't get to travel anywhere this year, last year Memorial Weekend Dominik and I went to Washington D.C.; my first time there. I have a really embarrassing, but funny story which I hope will educate more people as I know I can't possibly be the only one! On the first night there we arrived pretty late in the evening, and after seeing the White House, Dominik asks me, "Do you want to go to the Mall?" My reply was, "Is the mall open right now??" He looked terrified and saddened at the same time, and I knew I had made a horrible, horrible mistake. The "mall" he was referring to is of course the National Mall, and the mall I meant was the shopping mall as mall's aren't open that late. School taught me nothing valuable. But this is why I love traveling; because you always learn something new (or something you should have already known). Needless to say, I felt super embarrassed. Ah well, I'm sure there will be many more embarrassing moments to come. Anyway, I hope everyone enjoyed their Memorial Weekend, and hopefully learned something new about our country!

Elie's Grill

Wednesday, May 21, 2014

Today we enjoyed a beautiful meal at Elie's Mediterranean Bar and Grill. We started off with their grilled spiced tomatoes (which aren't on their online menu) and we were left wanting for more! If you don't enjoy spicy foods, DO NOT get these! I love spicy food and even for me they were pretty spicy so I would avoid it at all costs if spicy foods aren't your thing. While Dominik ordered the Moroccan Spiced Swordfish, I got the Seafood Trio, and both of us loved what we got :) We ended the evening with some drinks, and of course I ordered their Spanish coffee. I think it's time that I get the ingredients to make my own Spanish coffee considering how much I love it! I would definitely go back and eat here again. Hope the middle of your week is going wonderful and if you haven't tried Spanish coffee yet, give it a try!

Makeup Love

Boscia BB cream | LORAC PRO Powder Cheek Stain in Rosy Glow (Rose) | Lorac Unzipped Palette (shadow used "Unreal") |  Smashbox Full Exposure Mascara | Dior highlighter old (also love Diorskin Nude Shimmer in Pink) | Lancome Gloss in Love in Lily en Lame | Makeup Forever Aqua Eyes in brown

I don't wear makeup on a daily basis, but that doesn't mean that I don't absolutely LOVE makeup. I got interested in makeup when I was in middle school and I would do some crazey things with my makeup during those times. Since then, I've become much more subdued. I like my makeup to look as natural as possible during majority of the time, although I do like to play it up by mostly doing dramatic eyes; after all, eyes are the windows to the soul ;)

My makeup choices have become pretty consistent throughout the years. I've bought several foundations but have finally made my choice on Boscia BB cream. Many people don't like the sparkles that come in it, but that doesn't bother me. As well, it is a bit tinted which many fair-skinned girls complain of, but I apply it all over my neck when I'm paler and it does the trick. I like that it makes my skin glow and it doesn't cause any additional breakouts. I also love that it has sunscreen included in it.

I've also been using the LORAC PRO blush for some time now and I love it; the color payoff is amazing! I also own the Lorac Unzipped Palette and it's pretty much all I use for eye-shadows. For lashes, I'm currently on my third tube of Smashbox Full Exposure Mascara. I HAVE tried Benefit They're Real Mascara and I do like it, but I found that the Smashbox mascara is far more natural when applied and comes off much more easily. For highlighter, I'm still on my one and only Dior compact from 2012! I know that you should buy new makeup after a certain amount of time, and 2 years is certainly a long time, but it's so beautiful and it works just as well that I can't give it up. Plus, since I only use it sparingly, I don't see why it should be thrown away; it'd be such a waste! I can't find the exact highlighter as the one I bought back then, but this Dior one looks just as beautiful! The packaging with Dior is so stunning. My go-to lip product is Lancome Gloss in Love. I love the applicator and the color payoff once again is amazing; I want every shade!

Finally, for the eyeliner, the only ones I own are from Makeup Forever, Aqua Eyes. I bought this set for around $50 during Christmas I think that came with several shades; full shades included the black, brown, and purple, and mini-shades in another purple, champagne, and green. It was the BEST purchase! I still own the eyeliners, and they are amazing! They gliiiiiide onto your eye, the color is amazing, they stay on, and wash off fairly easily. I am so happy I ended up buying these because it's all that I use, and it was an AWESOME deal!

When it comes to makeup products, it's never-ending! There's always more beautiful makeup to buy! What have you bought recently that you love?

Wining and Dining

Happy Wednesday Everyone!

One of our favorite places to go out and have some wine or champagne is Cellar 59, a cozy wine bar at our nearby outdoor mall that's also right next to the movie theater, a definite plus! We ended up getting champagne just because I love anything carbonated. What I find amusing is that any time you order champagne when you go out, the waiter/waitress asks, "So what are you celebrating?" Dominik and I usually jokingly respond, "Life!" hehe. We enjoyed a bottle of champagne along with a Spanish coffee to top it off, and this place has my favorite Spanish coffee to date. Their platter of cheese and salami has gotten worse since I remember going there for the first time last summer, but we still devoured all of it. It was a wonderful end to the evening with some wonderful company :) Hope your middle of the week is just as wonderful!

Wanderlust

Florence, Italy. This image has not been altered, it is just this beautiful!
One of the five cute towns of Cinque Terre, Italy.

Kauai, Hawaii. Breathtaking!

Kilauea Lighthouse on Kauai

The view from Fort San Cristobal on San Juan, Puerto Rico.

The amazing view from our little hotel on the island of Vieques, Puerto Rico!

I spend my days dreaming of new places. There's so many beautiful places in the world, that my dreams are never-ending! Here are a few of my favorite pictures from my travels that I love looking at and reminiscing. For anyone who's still in college who has the opportunity to study abroad, I would HIGHLY recommend it. I spent a month studying abroad in Italy over a summer, and it was the best summer of my life. I loved being abroad for a longer period of time. I ended up getting a generous scholarship from my school which made it possible for me to go, so if travel is something you're also passionate about, look into your school's scholarships! For now, I'm going to keep on dreaming of my future destinations :)

Happy Weekend Everyone!

After the end of a long semester, I was able to enjoy a relaxing weekend in Miami with Dominik. We stayed at an amazing hotel, Fontainebleau, and I was thoroughly impressed with our stay there. We dined out at Hakkasan, where two nights prior, Prince Harry had been dining! The food was delicious; I savored every bite! We also had room service one of the nights, and it was one of the best room service meals I've had at a hotel. On Saturday, we went out the nightclub Liv where we saw Victoria's Secret models Doutzen Kroes and Candice Swanepoel! Those who know me well know how much I love celebrities and celebrity gossip so it was very exciting when we spotted them in the DJ booth (Doutzen is married to DJ Sunnery James who was the DJ that night), although they didn't do anything gossip worthy but dance. I also got to snap some pictures of the food, scenery, and bits and pieces of my outfits, so I hope you guys enjoy them!
